All Bano eeMee designs are crafted with high quality, supple lamb leather. All leather used is a by-product of the food industry. Bano eeMee is firmly opposed to employing exotic animal products in its designs. Bano eeMee is also committed to the environment and the fall 2015 collection has been crafted with chrome free lamb leather tanned with low-impact dyes and vegetable based tannins. All chemicals used in the tanning process are REACH certified. REACH is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.
Bano eeMee’s signature distressed, hand burnished look:
In order to achieve the signature Bano eeMee distressed hand burnished look, all garments are washed and hand distressed by being immersed in water, placed under weight, hand tossed and tumbled and finally hand burnished to highlight the natural imperfections in leather. This involved multi-step process brings out tone variation in the garments making some panels darker and others lighter and also causes puckering around garment seams. This textural and tone variation allows Bano eeMee products to be differentiated from faux leather or pleather garments and also makes Bano eeMee garments very supple and comfortable to wear.
